Dr. Scott Poland is a Director of Psychological Services at a school in Houston Texas and he is a member of the National Emergency Assistance Team.  It appears Dr. Poland has done research and work on the topic of teen suicide. I would conclude he is a scholarly source. The article is written to give advice to a teacher after a suicide at their school. It addresses the questions students may have, and how to answer in a positive way. This source also explains how a teacher should act and direct students in a way that enforces the prevention of another suicide. This article is written to inform.
